Mrs. Catherine Marie Guyon Obituary - Cleveland, OH - Tributes.com

Catherine Marie Guyon (nee Forster), age 93, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Mount Alverna Village in Parma where she had resided for nearly two years.

She was born March 8, 1916 in Cleveland to Blasius and Marie (nee Sebold) Forster. Since age ten and for 80 years total, she resided in the Family home on Denley Avenue in Cleveland. She attended Cleveland Lincoln High School and was a longtime, faithful member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Cleveland. In June 1941, she married Elmer Guyon at Our Lady of Good Counsel and enjoyed 60 years of marriage. She was primarily a homemaker throughout her lifetime but briefly worked at Union Gospel Press on Professor Avenue in Tremont. A very active and committed member of the V.F.W. Lake Erie Post 1974 Ladies Auxiliary on Woodrow Avenue in Parma, she was a very sociable person and could either be found dancing with Elmer on Saturday's at the Aragon Ballroom or bowling in a league.

Mrs. Guyon was preceded in death by her beloved Husband Elmer Guyon who passed away in November 2001. She is survived by her Daughters Carol A. Sippola (Raymond) of Painesville, Ohio and Karen M. Grove (Alan) of Parma, Ohio; her Grandchildren Craig Sippola (Judy) of Parma, Ohio, Mark Sippola, Ph.D., of Berkeley, California and Derek Grove of North Hollywood, California, and her Great-Grandchildren Joseph and Megan Sippola; and many dear Friends and Neighbors.

The Family will receive Friends at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 21, 2010.

Catherine's Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the LaVerna Chapel of the Mount Alverna Village (Please Meet At Mount Alverna), 6765 State Road, Parma, Ohio, 44134., with Rev. Douglas Makowski officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
