Clay Campbell, president of Martinsville Speedway, was awarded the Heck Ford Chamber of Commerce Martinsville-Henry County on Wednesday, in recognition of his extensive community service.
The award, the highest presented by the chamber, is named for Ford, the late local civil leader who was considered a one-man chamber of commerce decades ago before a Chamber was organized in the community. Campbell also fits the description of a room of a man, according to the Council Chamber President Marsha Frith. He has donated time and effort to serve the community because "it really like Martinsville-Henry County," she said. As president of the attraction of the region more tourist Campbell "rolled up his sleeves" to convince NASCAR to continue to have two Sprint Cup races at the Speedway year through at least 2015, Frith said. PARIS, TN - Henry County Medical Center Women's Health Advisory Council (Whac) joined the Henry County Fitness Challenge with an evening of demonstrations of exercises for women of all ages and fitness levels.
HCMC Whac wants to reduce the level of obesity Henry Countians and believes that women developing a range of incentive programs in our community the opportunity to learn ways to reduce obesity is a win for everyone.
Women are invited to meet at 5:30 pm at the commercial building at the Henry County Fair on Tuesday, September27, for options of different fitness which are available in the region. Demonstrations of exercises begin at 18 hours. The first 50 women in the door will receive a bag full of goodies exercise and women who are enrolled in the Health Challenge Healthy Henry County Mayor will receive five points for well-being of each family member.
After the exercise demonstrations, enjoy refreshments, a healthy snack and learn about options for a variety of fitness and healthy food choices in our community.
