Twilight Moms of Middle Georgia reel in series actor Welch for fundraiser

For “Twilight” fans, an invitation that reads “Come Celebrate the Wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Anthony Mason Cullen,” is nearly impossible to resist. The Twilight Moms of Middle Georgia are hoping that their snazzy tag line, and the presence of Michael Welch who plays Mike Newton in the “Twilight” series, will raise funds to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Central Georgia.

Welch, in a recent phone interview, talked about his excitement for the event. “I’ve been to Georgia on two or three occasions, but I’m really looking forward to coming to Macon. The Twilight Moms contacted me directly with a letter and they just seemed like the sweetest people in the world. I did a bit of follow-up research and it turns out they’re an incredible group of people and they’ve done so much. I’m also a big supporter of the Ronald McDonald Houses and this seemed like the chance for me to do a lot of good with a minimal amount of effort.”

Formed in 2009, the Twilight Moms of Middle Georgia is a nonprofit group with the goal of bringing together adult women who are fans of the “Twilight” series by Stephenie Meyer. The group’s founders, Cindy Adrien and Bethany Rensberger, initially just wanted to view the latest “Twilight Saga” movie at their local theater with a group of women their age. Word spread, more interested women came out, and Adrien and Rensberger saw the opportunity to combine their love of “Twilight” with the goals of giving back to local and national charities.

The Breaking Dawn Gala, as it is dubbed, will feature a silent auction, a raffle, and the chance to win tickets to the private screening of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1.”

“I’m going to just do what I do,” Welch said. “I’ll be doing a Q&A, where I’m offering to answer nearly any question. I’ll sign autographs, take pictures and enjoy the opportunity to mingle with the fans that have been so good to me.

All "Cavewoman" costumes I've found looks so cheap. I want something that looks less leather / fur.

If you are smart, make one. Craft stores carry fake fur - so do many fabric stores. Make allows you to adjust the suit to your level of modesty - or lack thereof. You can use fabric glue to attach the fur to the layer below. If you prefer real fur leather shops make samples of rabbit fur, but be careful, people looooove to touch. I knew a guy who used a Viking costume. People could not keep their hands.
