At E3, Tritton introduced the world’s first gaming headsets for the Xbox 360 cobranded by Microsoft, which most notably included the only truly wireless audio solutions for the system – the Devastator and the Warhead – as well as an entry-level wired headset, the Detonator.
While the allure of wireless freedom as delivered by the Devastator and Warhead is clear, the Detonator is an odd outlier in the series, providing baseline features like wired USB and stereo RCA connectivity and chat communication.
Despite being the runt in an otherwise feature-packed lineup, at $79.99 the Detonator is actually a fairly decent solution for its class.

They also include a cable for microphone communications, which connects the headset to the required port on your Xbox 360 controller.
Though installation is far from streamlined, little could be done to improve it without driving up the MSRP.

Small touches, like chrome and white logo accents and orange speaker covering, also give the Detonator some distinct personality.
But then there also some subtle design features that have a more direct functional impact, such as the removable microphone and swiveling earcups. While other products in the same price sport rigidly fixed designs, the Detonator allows you to rest the headset on your shoulders comfortably by turning the earcups inward and adjusting their orientation.
