The Low Down On The Sealy Posturepedic ... - Mattress Reviews

Of foam. This is not all necessarily bad, but this model is an innerspring model and we would expect to find a higher coil count. While foam abundances can be a bad thing on one hand, it can be a good thing on the other. In fact, what makes this mattress so attractive is that 6.5″ of its core consists of foam. This particular foam makes up the different comfort layers (not to be confused with the encasement foam that surrounds the mattress core).

The comfort layers here will consist of different types of foam, including memory foam. At this price point, memory foam is a rare treat. And because so much of the mattress consists of foam, you get more of it here than you would else (almost 1/2 of the mattress’s overall height is foam).

Without question, this is one of Sealy’s lower-end mattresses. Although the coil count of 660 is itself disappointing (the fewer the coils, the lesser the overall support and comfort), the fact that they are also packing so much foam on top of those coils makes us wonder how much support the coils will even offer. Of course, those foam comfort layers will provide support where the coils do not, which is probably a good thing in this case.

With a low coil count, the individually wrapped coils are almost “not worth it.” While you can still enjoy good comfort if you sleep on your own, one of the biggest benefits with individually wrapped coils is elimination of motion transfer. At 660, don’t expect too much happiness in that department.

However, the Sealy Posturepedic Grayson mattress is attractively priced and is not only build in the United States, but it has a great company behind it. Sealy knows how to built an exceptionally good mattress and Posturepedic sales support this. For people who are looking at a way to replace a second bed or who do not have a shopping-list of requirements when it comes to comfort and support from a mattress, then this is a great deal. But for those who are looking for a more luxurious sleep experience and who have bigger demands from a mattress (like someone with back pain) then it is probably worth looking elsewhere.
